Warranty Information

Every item bought from the Simply Cozy Homes store includes a 1-year limited warranty against defects in materials, workmanship, and assembly under normal household use.

Warranty coverage begins on the date your order is delivered.

If a covered problem appears during the warranty period, our team will first help identify the cause. Depending on the issue, we may send a replacement part, send a replacement item, arrange a return, or issue a refund.

Our aim is to settle covered claims quickly and without unnecessary shipping.

What the Warranty Covers

The limited warranty covers items supplied in your original order against defects in materials, workmanship, or assembly for 1 year from the delivery date.

Covered issues may include:

  • Seams, hems, or stitching that fail without misuse
  • Zippers, ties, or fastenings that fail on first use
  • Joints, legs, or frames that loosen or split under normal load
  • Electrical faults in lamps, diffusers, or similar items, including faulty switches, sockets, and cords
  • Finishes that peel, flake, bubble, or lift away from the surface
  • Glass, ceramic, or mirror pieces that arrive cracked, chipped, or with internal flaws
  • Weave separation, backing failure, or excessive shedding in rugs beyond normal break-in
  • Warping, splitting, or delamination of wood that is not caused by moisture or heat
  • Missing, mismatched, or defective assembly hardware
  • Coatings that rust or corrode indoors within the warranty period

Coverage applies only to items supplied as part of your original Simply Cozy Homes order, or items we later supplied as a warranty replacement.

What Is Not Covered

The limited warranty does not cover damage or failure caused by anything outside normal intended use.

Examples of items not covered include:

  • Normal wear, including fading, thinning, softening, pilling, and loss of loft
  • Fading or drying caused by direct sunlight, radiators, or heating vents
  • Accidental damage, drops, knocks, tears, or breakage
  • Liquid spills, water rings, steam, or humidity damage
  • Burns, scorch marks, wax damage, and heat marks, including damage from candles
  • Pet damage, including claw marks, chewing, and staining
  • Damage from children’s use beyond normal household wear
  • Washing, drying, bleaching, or ironing against the care instructions
  • Indoor items used outdoors, in bathrooms, or in other high-moisture areas unless listed as suitable
  • Incorrect assembly, overtightened fittings, or stripped screws
  • Items mounted with unsuitable fixings, or walls and ceilings that fail to hold a fitting
  • Overloading shelves, hooks, baskets, or furniture beyond their stated capacity
  • Altered, cut, resized, repainted, refinished, or repaired items
  • Damage during transport or storage arranged independently by the customer
  • Consumable and replaceable parts such as bulbs, batteries, candle wicks, wax, filters, and reeds
  • Items sold as clearance, seconds, or “as is”
  • Ordinary cleaning, re-fluffing, re-tightening, and other routine maintenance

The warranty also does not cover an item simply being the wrong size, color, or style for your room. That is handled under our returns policy instead, and the window is shorter, so check the Terms & Conditions page.

Natural Variation Is Not a Defect

Home decor is made from materials that are never perfectly uniform, and small differences are part of the product rather than a fault.

The following are normal and are not treated as warranty claims:

  • Variation in wood grain, knots, and stain absorption
  • Veining and color shifts in marble, stone, and concrete
  • Dye-lot differences between items ordered at different times
  • Slight irregularity in handwoven, hand-thrown, hand-carved, or hand-poured pieces
  • Small differences in size within normal manufacturing tolerance
  • Creases, folds, and packing marks that settle within a few days
  • A packaging smell that fades after airing out
  • Initial shedding from new wool or jute rugs
  • Color appearing different in your room’s light than on your screen

If you are unsure whether something is a defect or normal variation, send us photos and we will tell you plainly.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

If you believe an item has a covered defect, contact us with:

  • Your order number
  • The name of the person who placed the order
  • The item name
  • A description of the problem and when it started
  • Clear photos, and video where movement or a fault is easier to show
  • How the item has been used, cleaned, and where it is placed

We may ask a few simple questions before approving a replacement, such as how the item was mounted, what it was cleaned with, or how much weight it carries.

Please do not ship an item back to us until you have received return instructions. Unapproved shipments can be delayed or refused.

Repair, Replacement, or Refund

After reviewing the claim, we will decide the appropriate solution.

Depending on the issue, we may:

  • Send replacement hardware, a cord, a shade, an insert, or another part
  • Send a replacement item
  • Ask you to return the item for inspection
  • Offer a partial refund where the item is usable and you prefer to keep it
  • Issue a full refund where a replacement is not available

Replacement items are new or functionally equivalent. If the original item has been discontinued or a dye lot is no longer available, we may supply the closest current equivalent, and we will tell you before shipping it.

A replacement item carries the remainder of the original warranty period, not a new one.

Warranty Service Shipping

When an item has to be returned for an approved warranty claim within the continental United States, we will provide shipping instructions.

  • For approved claims made in the first 30 days after delivery, we cover reasonable standard shipping both ways.
  • After 30 days, you cover shipping to us, and we cover standard return shipping after an approved repair or replacement.
  • Expedited shipping requested by the customer may carry an additional charge.

Items returned for service must be packed securely. Where possible, keep the original box and protective packaging for the length of the warranty period, since it is the safest way to send fragile pieces back.

Damage caused by inadequate return packaging may not be covered.

Service Turnaround

Most approved claims are resolved within approximately 5–10 business days after the item or the photos needed to assess it reach us.

Claims that need a replacement part ordered from the supplier may take longer. Shipping time to and from us is not included in that estimate.

We will keep you updated if a claim is going to take substantially longer than normal.

Replacement Parts

For many issues, sending one part is faster than returning the whole item.

If we send a replacement part in advance, we may ask you to return the faulty part within a set period. Where a required return is not sent back, we may charge for the replacement.

Please do not throw away a faulty part until we confirm that it does not need to come back.

Care and Use Affect Coverage

Following the care instructions supplied with your item keeps the warranty intact.

Normal use and reasonable care do not void your warranty. The warranty does not, however, cover:

  • Damage caused by cleaning products the care card advises against
  • Damage from machine washing an item labeled spot-clean or dry-clean only
  • Failures caused by fitting a bulb above the maximum wattage stated on a lamp
  • Damage caused by modifying, rewiring, cutting, or refinishing an item
  • Failures caused by mounting an item with unsuitable fixings or in an unsuitable location
  • Damage caused by exceeding a stated weight limit

If you are unsure how to clean, hang, or place an item, contact us before you do it.

Manufacturer Warranties

Some brands we stock provide their own warranty, and in a few cases it runs longer than ours.

Manufacturer warranty terms are set by that manufacturer and may need a separate claim with them directly. Where practical, we can help identify the brand, model, and batch details you need if you pursue a manufacturer claim after our warranty period ends.

Items Bought Through Our Amazon and Retailer Links

Some of our guides and product picks link to Amazon and other retailers. Those purchases are not covered by this warranty.

For those orders:

  • The retailer or the product’s manufacturer handles the warranty
  • Returns, replacements, and refunds go through that retailer’s own process
  • We cannot see the order, approve a claim, or send a replacement

We are happy to help you identify the manufacturer or find the right product details for your claim.

Data, Contents, and Personal Items

Before returning any item for service, please remove everything from it, including contents of baskets, boxes, drawers, or storage pieces, and any bulbs, batteries, or accessories you want to keep.

We cannot take responsibility for personal items left inside a returned product.

Transferring the Warranty

This limited warranty applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Proof of purchase or the original order number may be required before a claim is approved. Items received as a gift are covered under the original order, so the order number is still needed.

Warranty Limitations

Warranty service is limited to the repair, replacement, or refund of eligible defective items as determined by Simply Cozy Homes.

We are not responsible for indirect losses connected to a faulty item, including damage to other property, lost time, or other consequential loss, except where such limits are prohibited by applicable law.

Nothing in this warranty limits consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
